Goofle COULD be a lot better at the things they attempt to do it they only concentrated more effort on fewer attempts. In Goofle’s case, there isn’t time to do it over. If not chosen as a pet project, they half-ass something, kick it out the door and call it done. This will give you more speed and ease of use.You named a few good and successful projects Goofle has had but, for example, I don’t give a tinker’s damn about POP/SMTP/IMAP.

If you plan to use AdWords Editor more extensively you should get a virtual machine with Windows working and install Google AdWords Editor there. You wont have to dual boot or start a VM. But for quick checks and bulk operations this solution works quite well. Usually WINE is not the high performer, thus don't expect a too snappy user experience.
